Quintas De Melgaco

Presenting Quintas de Melgaço is presenting a story of courage and love for one's origins, which began to be written by the enterprising hand of Melgacense Amadeu Abílio Lopes. After heading to Brazil and establishing himself as a benchmark industrial entrepreneur in the mid-20th century, the desire to live again in the place where his roots are firmly established speaks louder. Upon returning to Melgaço, he challenges some small and medium wine producers to join forces for the benefit of the region's wine potential and the Alvarinho grape variety, the basis of all their wines. From this passion, combined with Amadeu's bold and determined spirit, the Quintas de Melgaço partnership is born. This fruit has grown and matured, and currently represents an important force for socioeconomic development in Melgaço, projecting the region onto the world atlas. This mission is only achieved through the daily commitment and care of its 530 members, that is, its 530 families.
