The roots of Movia go back to the beginning of the eighteenth century, and the Kristančič family has been caring for the estate since 1820. The estate measures 30 hectares. The majority, 25 hectares, consist of vineyards planted in the border area between Slovenia and Italy, where the wine-growing regions of Goriška brda and Collio meet.
