Franko belongs to the new school of Istrian winemakers who wanted to incorporate new technologies into the existing tradition of wine making in order to obtain all the aromas and the tastes of the soil from precious clusters. Franko wanted to achieve that by valorising the old Istrian vines such as Istrian Malvasia and Refošk and by introducing new international varieties.
